In the United States, there has been a change in the way people perceive gay rights. There has a been an upward shift in the amount of people willing to socially accept gay and lesbian couples, however, there are still laws in many states that prohibit same-sex marriage.
It seems as though the laws are behind with the times and this can be a very frustrating reality to face for same-sex couples who seek a basic human right—to marry their loved one.
